Burgundy : Briénon
Brienon is located at the crossroads of three exceptional waterways : the Canal de Bourgogne, the Yonne and the Canal du Nivernais.
Cliffs, groves and waterside vineyards make up the landscape that surrounds the meandering rivers. Numerous castles, medieval villages and historic towns invite you to stop: Joigny, Sens, Auxerre (a city of art and history) or Mailly-le-Château set on a rocky outcrop…
The area is excellent for fishing with many species of fish populating the rivers including pike, carp, berch, bream and many more. Climbers can test their skills and practice climbing on the famous rocks at Saussois whil wine lovers can visit cellars and prestigious vineyards (Châblis, Irancy, Crémant de Bourgogne…)
